A new day has….come……
Hope you guys are recovering from the new years’ eve celebrations last night. Well, today it’s a new year and a new start for all of us. 2008 is going to be a great year for you and I. Right now, it is snowing outside my place. I heard it might warm up next week….lol I always check the weather on TV and on the internet. I’m really an avid fan of watching “The Weather Network” on TV since I was a little kid.
If you are going out anywhere today, virtually everything is closed. Unless you live in the Toronto Area, The Eaton Centre, Vaughan Mills and the ever popular Pacific Mall (which I had mentioned on my last blog posting) are all open today because they are all designated tourist spots. To see my blog postings, you can click either here or here.
Anyways, based on the first paragraph I wrote on this blog, I have decided to post a music video by my favourite singer, Celine Dion. She is very famous for her show in Las Vegas (which the curtain for that show has since been fallen down - meaning: there’s no new shows planned). I’m going to leave you two music videos by Celine Dion, “A new day has come” and “You and I”. I really like that second song. That song has been featured for Air Canada’s campaign.
I wonder if my friend Bobby Foley has his view about Celine Dion…….hmmm….talking about sheer “bobbyisms”…….
A new day has come:
You and I:
Funny… no real view either way. Celine Dion seems very much to appeal traditionally to an older demographic, but I don’t necessarily suppose it has that much to do with anything relevant… I think it’s simply that her biggest fans are people that were around in the 80s and remember her meteoric career.
In all honesty, I think most pop acts (from actual pop groups to young punk bands and beyond) would probably kill to glimpse the kind of success and epic song catalogue that she did, even around the time most of us were learning to walk or starting school. And if they say otherwise, they’re lying.
