GO Transit contract has been ratified, Canada Post finally identifies the culprits behind the vulgar letter incident

Well, I have two great news to talk about people. First off: GO Transit’s bus drivers has finally ratify a new deal with the union. At least 72% of all the members voted in this new deal. It seems that many passengers will have some rest after all, knowing that a GO strike has been called off after some rumours and concerns about the strike anxiety. The previous offer was voted down after 69% of the union members voted against the old one. It could have been worse for many people. At least 30,000 use the service every day.

Changing gears, it seems that after a long search – Canada Post has finally found the culprits behind the vulgar Santa letters. The culprits were – minors who volunteer in the program and not those who are employees of the postal corporation.  They are not expected to be charged, which is disappointing to some because the corporation is a Federal Crown Corporation (state-owned enterprise). It’s a federal offence to alter, look at or compromise letters. Oh well, at least Canada Post is planning to make some changes to the program and they mandate new measures to the program to make sure an incident like this happen again.

To finish off this blog posting, I’m leaving you a video by a band called The Used. The music video is called “The Taste of Ink”. It seems that GO Transit bus drivers (ticket agents, office staff, maintenance crew for buses) and Canada Post employees have got their “Taste of Ink” after all.
