It’s official – the iPhone is coming to a Rogers/Fido store near you
Well guys, the announcement is true – the Apple iPhone is coming to Rogers and Fido starting on July 11th. The only difference is that a new and improved version will be released into the Canadian Marketplace after much speculation to tech savvy people, including myself (although I prefer to keep my iPod with me). So what does that mean for people who have “unlocked” iPhones? I guess that they will continue to carry on as usual, despite the announcement.
I also heard that the iPhone might rival the BlackBerry device (I can’t remember what device that was released recently to rival the iPhone) and this new iPhone will serve as a warning for new entrants as the wireless auction is ongoing. A new carrier will be announced shortly, but information leaked out from WirelessNorth.ca that Quebecor might be the next provider, but they recently pulled out from the Toronto area, filling the void for Globalive (known for its Yak brand) and another company called “DAVE”.
As for the new iPhone, the price for this device – $210CDN (from $199US). We are not sure if this device is for a three year contract or just for the device itself. We’ll have to wait and see. Many bloggers are starting to weigh in on this announcement. An example of this can be founded here. People, mark your calendars. The new iPhone craze will be waiting for you on July 11th, 2008. Get your arms ready.
